I am addicted to Coffee... FILTERS that is. I thought it was about time for an update on here... Here is a tutorial to make a very cute and simple Wreath.
This one pictured is for Valentine's Day. I mean Beckett's birthday.... haha
And this is okay to be addicted to... The whole wreath only costs about $1 to make... LOVE THAT!

This is what you will need:
- A paper plate (1 per wreath)
- Coffee Filters (each wreath takes about 50 filters...will vary based on how FULL you want it)
- Glue Gun / Glue Sticks
- Dye (optional... food coloring... coke... anything that dyes...)
- Single hole puncher
- Tulle or Ribbon to hang from

| Step 1: Cut a hole in the plate leaving about 2-3 inches of the plate on all sides. |

| Step 2: Dye Coffee Filters. For this wreath I did 3 different colors. Here is how to get each color. For white do nothing (I left 15 of mine white) For pink or any pastel color: Add 5 drops of red food coloring to 1/2 to 1 cup water. Dip the ends of the filters in the water. Put them in the dryer for about 3-5 minutes so they can dry. (I did 15 pink filters) For Red or to any color to get the BRIGHT color take the food coloring and put the drops of food coloring directly onto the tips of the filters. (I did 15 red filters). Total 45 Filters 3 colors. |

| Step 3: Crimp your filters. Pinch the middle of the base of the filter and pull the rest of the filter up into a cone shape with your other hand. |

| Step 4: Glue Filters onto the plate starting with the ones that fan toward the outside of the plate. This is the 1st layer. Note: If you are using 45 filters you will need to put them about an inch apart to get the same look as this one shown. If you want it fuller (I wouldn't suggest going less full than 36 filters) then glue them closer together. Create a pattern with what colors you are using. |

| Step 5: Start the 2nd Layer. If using three colors make sure you glue the opposite color in between the other colors. Like red goes in between pink and white. Note: There should be 15 filters on this layer as well. |

| Step 6: Start 3rd and Final layer. Put remaining 15 filters in between the 1st and 2nd layers of filters. Space them so that 5 filters takes up about 1/3 of the plates circumference. Picture above shows 3rd layer about 2/3 finished. Only 5 filters to go! |

| Step 7: Create a line of holes using the hole punch and punching right next to the previous hole. (I did about 6-8 holes next to each other for my ribbon/tulle to fit through. |

| Step 8: OPTIONAL I crisped the ends of mine to make it look more vintagy. To do this I went OUTSIDE and took a long handled lighter to it. DO SMALL AREAS... or say goodbye now. Once the SMALL AREA is in flame blow it out. Do it all over burning some parts longer to get your desired look. Step 9: Thread a long piece of ribbon or tulle through the line of holes that you made in step 7. Tie the ribbon/tulle |
Then hang it on a door. I made two. Put one on my front door and one on my pantry door.
I hung the wreath on a nail I put in the door (don't tell Russ) on the inside of the door.
